Another School Year, More Responsibilities

We started back to homeschool on Monday. The boys are doing great. David started 4th grade and Jack is continuing the second half of 1st. I have delegated more independent work to David to help teach him to manage his time. He seems to like it because if he finishes before Friday, he's finished. I don't dump more on him. Of course, he's a little go-getter, so he always wants to "get ahead"!
We have also joined a Co-op this year. It is one that used to be sponsored by our church, but has just recently switched to a church that was more willing to work with us "weird" homeschoolers. The original co-opers always got the impression that they were the unwanted child at our church...always hidden in the background, never spoken of, never advertised. Well despite that treatment it has doubled in size every semester. Last semester they had 90 children! It is a working co-op, so every parent has to help teach. You are not allowed to drop your children off to get a free day!
I will be co-coaching PE with Pam, who has been doing it for 5 years. It lasts 11 weeks this semester. I signed David up for PE, Art, and Public Speaking. Jack will be taking Kindermusik, Art, and PE. They will be grouped with kids their age. We know several of the families in it from our church. I think it will be good, especially for Jack, to be in a classroom setting. We start the Thursday after Labor Day, so keep us in your prayers. I also have to buy them uniforms (red shirt, khaki shorts.) We will be taking our lunches also.
In addition to the co-op I am the registration director for the soccer league in our area. It has been extremely time consuming so far. I've had to set up registration tables at two locations and drop flyers off at public schools and daycares. I've only done 3 schools and 5 daycares in two days. Only 29 more to go! Thankfully, I had one mom take flyers to one school.
I hope everyone has a great week!
