David Wins District Free Throw Contest

David took first place in the 10 year old boys' competition held at St. Theresa's Catholic Church on Sunday, February 3. It was the best of 25 shots. There were 3 boys in his division. He was the second to compete and made 10 out of 25. (The first boy didn't make a one, poor thing.) The third and final boy also made 10 out of 25. They had a 5 shot shoot-out. The other boy went first. He made 1 out of 5. David took his turn. He made his first shot, missed his second, then made the third to claim first prize!

It was all very exciting, especially when we learned that only the first place advances to the next round. David will be competing later on in February at the Diocesan level in Pasadena. He was so excited after winning the first competition that he bought basketball shoes and has been practicing just about every day!
