8 Seconds

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2

In 1989, Greg LeMond won the Tour by a mere 8 seconds, the smallest margin of victory in the history of the tour. LeMond overcame a 50-second deficit to defeat the favored French rider, Laurent Fignon in the final stage of the race.

A race analyst watched the race and studied every aspect of it to understand how LeMond came to win by a mere 8 seconds. In his study, he noticed that the French rider had a pony tail whipping in the wind during the final race. He determined that if Laurent Fignon had tucked in his tail…he would have ridden 10 seconds faster. Greg Lemond would have lost the Tour by just 2 seconds…the smallest margin ever.

Question-What do you have in your life that’s keeping you from running or riding in the Tour of life victoriously?
