Nancy Drew

The day was cloudy and threatening rain in Houston...a perfect day to take in a movie. So the Bear Clan went to see the only family film we hadn't seen this summer: Nancy Drew.

Very pleasantly surprised. Nancy Drew was a delightful movie with no cursing, no sex, no disrespectul attitude, very limited violence. It was a respite from all the super-hyped "Part 3" movies that have yet to yield the classic summer movie experience.

The producers of the film played with Nancy's flare for traditional dress. There was a chance for the film to be mean-spirited toward Nancy but thankfully moviegoers were spared that predictable storyline.

For those who grew up reading Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, the film respects the character and treats her entrance into the 21st century with class.

As a Christian I see no issue with recommending Nancy Drew.

By the way, I have two boys and they loved the film.
