You Read the Same Book Every Day?
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. “That’s beautiful,” comments Solara in the movie-The Book of Eli. Then she asks Eli-“Did you write that?”
Eli then jokes that he did. Then he confesses it came from a book he reads every day.
“You read the same book every day?” Solara asks, stunned.
Let that sink in a moment. As crazy as that sounds to the world, we read the same book every day. Or we should. We should meditate on its every word like it was the first time we have ever laid our eyes on it.
Our heart should respond to its newness everyday with an emphatic “That’s beautiful!” Because…it is.
